La Marea: WebDesign

Actualizado: 2 may 2023

The independent medium's design is a very clear and simple one but it has its function.
Like this looks La Marea webpage

La Marea's website stands out mainly for its colors, colors that mark their identity signs, these are white and blue. Just colors that convey freedom, calm, and lots of joy in the form of colors of liveliness and hope. In addition, another very relevant aspect is its simplicity, which always attracts attention because it can mean two things. The first one is that it is a very shabby page and the second one is that it is a well-ordered page with clear ideas. It all depends on the execution, which in this case is very good. Simplicity is focused primarily on those aspects that you want to give or show the reader, ie a simple menu, with the most demanded part of its audience. Then, a small button with a drop-down to more sections, sections listed as secondary to noestr seen in the foreground, or rather at the entrance of the view of the launch page itself.

La Marea is a medium, which initially, gives much focus and importance to international politics or culture. This deduction has been made logically by seeing the order of the top menu, a short menu, and an indirect form without drop-down buttons, where these sections take all the protagonism of the front page of the online media. However, the most repeated and most likely to be written, today, May 1st, when entering and scrolling down, is the theme of the top, that is, the environment. Just another of the themes present in this direct view of the menu. This is why La Marea is a very empathetic media with the environment, something that can be seen on its website, as we have already mentioned above.

However, another very, very important aspect of La Marea is none other than the absence of sports information, something that really catches my attention. Mainly, it calls my attention because in the present we are living in, the sports theme is probably the most consumed in the world or at least one of the most consumed by all age groups, that's for sure. However, La Marea lacks information, maybe a couple of articles in a very irregular way of publication are present in their publication archives. It is also true that perhaps it is difficult information to cover as it is an independent media and does not have the institutional support of any big company. We all know that this influence opens a lot of information and more in this sporting world where money has more and more dents. Despite this lack, La Marea has a great variety of very important information such as political information or social interest, where there is a great abundance of up-to-date information that keeps us all up to date with our politics, or international because as we have mentioned, the media is also very focused on international information.

Finally, and jumping again to the design and the web we can leave a couple of brushstrokes on their posts, inside. La Marea's posts usually have a medium length for what is recommended on the web, remember that around 700-800 words in a text suitable to be read on a screen, although it is true that if it is well organized audio-visually the figure may increase. Well, La Marea's mix of its information with audio-visual is not incredible as its posts often lack visual color, in the form of images or illustrations. Additionally, they are made up of a long text, with detailed information, but perhaps for a few people reading the whole article may be exhausting.

La Marea's website also has a section of interviews where they detscan, in size, the interview with Pedro Almodóvar.
