Actualizado: 2 may 2023

Agora Futbol is causing a sensation on the Twitch social network. Their journalistic live streams are tearing it up.

Agora Futbol is a new form of communication, a new form of journalism. A form made through new platforms and new technologies where more and more people are involved. Its history is very curious and is full of friendships, and dreams, but above all, it is full of excitement, something that they have never lacked. Its history dates back years and years, when David and Roque, founders of Agora Futbol, began their ties of friendship, from that moment their dreams are being fulfilled together little by little and Agora Futbol grows very interesting.

"I am from Almeria but when I finished high school David told me to go to Madrid to study journalism."

David and Roque always had the same dream, to be sports journalists. That's why David managed to convince Roque to go to Madrid to study. Once both were in Madrid, David because he is a native of Getafe, and Roque after coming, started their way to the university, where they finally thought about creating their own media where they can start to practice and grow by themselves. From that idea, Agora Futbol was born, and, little by little, they started to open a window on this world of the new way of communicating, the net. In spite of their first idea was not to enter on the net, they just loved the traditional media but they knew that creating a traditional media was impossible. On the contrary, creating online media was possible, so they decided to start their online project on the net.

"Either you start moving from the beginning or you're going to have a hard time in this profession. "

After that first move, the idea was clear: in this world of journalism, either you start over or you're going to have a hard time. As a result of this shared idea, Agora Futbol was born and with it the beginning of something big. The new university student media was born based on more traditional formats but gradually evolved into networks over time. Twitter accounts, Instagram, or web pages would mark the beginning of the change towards the new way of doing journalism, journalism on the network. However, it wasn't until the Pandemic era that Agora would take its biggest step ever, launching itself into the world of Twitch.

"The pandemic made us get on Twitch even though sooner or later we would."

They knew that sooner or later the opportunity and idea to make the jump to Twitch would come. The possibility was already in their minds, and it was gaining more and more strength. They followed a lot the Twitch media platform and they really liked it, however, they were not yet ready to take the plunge. Finally, it would be in 2021, during the pandemic period, when the Twitch channel Agora Futbol was created. The starting point was not easy, they had to be strong as the viewers were very low, but they never lost their dream of fulfilling their project. When the time was passing, the viewers started to grow at a very good rate, something that brought them fame on the platform.

Agora Futbol Twitch Channel with +22K follows
"Gerard Romero supports us a lot and takes care of us in this journalistic world, he is like a father in that sense for us."

Now, after a little more than a year in the streaming world, the channel is a success. Its content on sports, but mostly football, is a hit on the net. Their viewers are very attached to the format and, above all, to its impartiality and objectivity, including a good variety of arguments along with collaborators who expose different opinions that add valuable content. In addition, their broadcast is scheduled at 14:00 in the afternoon in mainland Spain, a time more than suitable to reach all kinds of social groups, helping to reach a large audience.

They have reached such a point that some giants of the platform as Ibai Llanos or Gerard Romero, considered one of the best streamers of sports journalistic information on Twitch, have spoken very well of them. Moreover, those good words were mentioned in Ibai's first streaming after receiving the award for the best streamer in Mexico.

"I cried when I saw the clip where Ibai and Gerard talked about us so well."

Such was the surprise that the members of the online media found that they could not contain their excitement when they saw this clip which gave them another boost to continue growing. Ibai's audience is so large and the influence in the Spanish-speaking community that the Basque has meant an upturn in their desire, visits, and followers. Making a soccer analogy, this moment is like Messi knowing about you and dedicating a few words of recognition for your effort.

From that day on, Agora has been increasing its number of visits and growing as a medium. Their average number of viewers is very good, so much so that they now appear in some different accounts that show the best accounts by sector in terms of Twitch stats.

"Our future plans are to professionalize it, we are currently semi-professional."

Today, the channel is profitable and its profits are increasing. In spite of this, the team is made up of a good number of collaborators, which means that they are still a long way from being able to seriously put all their efforts and make a living from it. However, the goal is that, to grow and grow and to be able to make a big name for themselves within the platform to be able to live from the channel that they themselves have created.

List of the most rich people from Twitch, this proves that the platform makes lot of money.
"We prefer to try to professionalize Agora rather than to be exploited in a conventional media."

The Agora guys have built a very good sector and a loyal audience. They will continue fighting for their dream, which is getting closer and closer every day. Their progress remains to be seen in the coming months as they have big projects that will soon come to light and that they have not yet been able to reveal to us.
